Every year the Kanawha Valley Dental Society sponsors Give Kids a Smile, and this year we are hosting it at our office. February is National Children’s Dental Health Month and our main goal is to spread oral health awareness. There are so many kids who miss school due to a toothache or can’t eat because they are in pain. This breaks my heart. Cavities is the #1 chronic disease among children – and it’s 100% preventable. That’s why this event means so much to me. For WV families in the Kanawha Valley, we want dental access to be readily available, and this even does just that.
We are offering free exams, cleanings, xrays, and even treatment to those children who are uninsured. We also have a heated tent (donated by H&H enterprises) set up with 6 stations focusing on brushing, sports safety, arts and crafts, and multiple insurance options to get your child covered.
