Very few dental procedures can be performed without using local anesthetic. But for the majority of dental procedures, yes we have to numb your tooth. When we numb your tooth we usually numb an area that innervates several teeth or even a whole region (like the side of your tongue, lips, and teeth). I know from experience that feeling can be aggravating, but why not have a little fun with it. We made a short video with one of our patients post-anesthesia.
